About us...

I've heard it said that to be successful, you need a "story"--something that touches your emotions, something that makes you keep going. It's the answer to the question, "Why am I sitting here at 2 in the morning trying to make this work when I'd really rather be in bed." Travis is my story.

Travis was brain injured by DPT vaccine. He is a handsome and funny young man who loves God, his Guardian Angel, and horses. He likes to draw, and has drawn several angels and an advent wreath for my samplers. (By the way, if you purchase one of the samplers with Travis's artwork, a donation will be made to Our Lady of Victory's Home for Disabled Children.)

Travis will probably be with me for a long time to come. Sadly, he requires 24/7 attention. He was my motivation to start a business that would enable me to work from home so I could provide his care when he is out of school. Legally, disabled children can stay in school until the age of 22. Travis turned 22 on April 21, 2005. Read more about Travis here.

It is indeed a blessing to be able to turn my love of crafts into a business that will enable me to take care of my disabled son.

My grandmother taught me to embroider when I was a child. She gave me my first embroidery project--a little cross stitch sampler with "the three little pigs" held permanently in a red plastic frame. Nona's work was exquisite. To this day when I examine her pieces, I am always amazed to see that they look almost the same on the front side as on the back.

My favorite samplers are expressions of faith--prayers, blessings, and bible verses. As I design my patterns, I pray that my work may glorify God. I believe that stitching them is, in itself, a form of prayer.

So look around, browse through our patterns and features--we're certain you'll find something you will love. I welcome your comments and suggestions, and be sure to let me know if you have any special requests for pattern designs.

Yours in Christ, Carolyn
