"Tina's Angel"

Every doll has a story. This is the story of Tina's angel:

August 19, 1897
"Momma has been working on an angel doll for Tina ever since Tina fell into the creek and almost drowned. Tina gathered bits of wool from the sheep's pen for the angel's hair, and Momma sewed the dress from one of Pa's old shirts. Tina stitched an apron with the words, "Angel of God, my Guardian Dear," but she cut it off too short and then she cried. So Momma looked in her

 

 

scrap basket and found three little buttons and a pretty piece of gingham to add to the bottom. Tina said it was the most beautiful thing she ever did see, and Mamma said that's why the Bible tells us to be thankful always, because sometimes things work out in ways we never imagined."
