WHAT
THE HECK IS AN E-PATTERN AND WHY DO I CARE?
"E-Pattern" refers to a pattern that is sent to your email
address as a PDF document. E-patterns have all the same components
as traditional paper patterns, but since they go directly to your
email inbox, you don't have to wait for the mailman to deliver them.
E-patterns are usually less expensive to purchase, because there
are no handling or shipping expenses.
E-PATTERNS HELP US TO BE GOOD STEWARDS
You
only need to print out the pages you need, which saves paper and
helps our environment. When I send a paper pattern (a traditional
pattern that is ipre-printed and mailed to your home or business),
I have to print out and mail many, many pages, since I don't know
which information you may need. However, with an e-pattern, you
can view all the information and patterns, and chose to print
only what you need. If you don't want the Stitch Instruction Sheet,
don't print it. If you only want to read about mounting your sampler,
then save it on your computer for later reference, that's fine
too. Plus, there are no shipping expenses, so I am able to sell
my e-patterns at a lower price, which saves you money.
HOW DO I BUY AN E-PATTERN?
Easy! Just click on the "Buy Now" button. This
will take you to a secure check-out page, where you can pay for
your purchase. As soon as your purchase is completed, you will
be sent an email with a link that you can click to download your
pattern. Instant, safe, and easy. If you purchase e-patterns and
paper patterns, they will appear on two different invoices.
HOW
DO I OPEN OR SAVE AN E-PATTERN? (If this seems confusing to you,
you might want to print this page so you can refer to it later.)
You
will need to have Adobe Reader
installed on your computer before you can view or save these e-pattterns.
If you don't already have the latest version of Adobe Reader,
you can download a free copy of the program at www.adobe.com
As
soon as you receive your email with the link to your e-pattern,
right-click on the link to open it. The window will ask you if
you want to open it or save it. Choose OPEN. The Adobe window
will open, and you will now be able to view your pattern. You
can print it by clicking on "file" at the top left of
the screen, then choosing "print" from the dropdown
menu.
To
save the e-pattern to your computer,
first make a new folder in My Documents. I suggest you name it,
"Christian Patterns e-files"
To
save your pattern, click on "file" at the top left of
the screen, then choose "save a copy" from the dropdown
menu. Browse to the folder where you want to save it (Christian
Patterns e-files) and open the folder. Then, click "save"
in the lower right corner of the window. You can then close out
of Adobe Reader. Your pattern has been saved to your computer,
in the file "Christian Patterns e-files."
You
can open your saved copy of the pattern
any time by simply opening Adobe Reader as you would any other
program. When the Adobe window opens, go to the top of the screen
on the left hand side of the toolbar, hit "File," then
browse to the file you want to open, (in this case, "Christian
Patterns e-files"). Highlight the folder then open it. Click
on the specific pattern you wish to view.
The
file will open, and you will be able to view it as it is, or print
it. When you are through, simply close the file.
Just
remember that you must always open Adobe Reader before you try
to read any PDF files.
